Scott Drake

It is that back ground as a former prosecutor that makes me uniquely qualified to represent people accused of criminal offenses.  Since leaving prosecution in 1999,he has dedicated his practice primarily to criminal representation and has successfully represented more than  fifteen hundred cases involving people accused of crimes,  including over fifty jury trials.

Scott has the required experience and ability to aggressively defend you in any criminal case from traffic tickets to murder, and anything in between.    Practice areas include all aspects of criminal representation in both felony and misdemeanor cases, including citizens accused of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, traffic violations, drug and trafficking offenses and serious violent felonies in Gwinnett, Hall Dekalb, Fulton, Barrow, Walton, Rockdale, Jackson, and Forsyth Counties.  Additonally, he is available to handle bond proceeding, probation revocation hearings, drug forfeiture actions, and appeals to the State Court of Appeals and State Supreme Court.
Now living in the Grayson area with his wife and three children, Scott was born in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio,  attended the University of Georgia  receiving a bachelors degree in Economics.  Juris Doctorate Degree is from Georgia Sate University College of Law in 1991 and was admitted to the state Bar of Georgia in the same year. .
He is a member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Attorney’s as well as a member of the National  Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and a past president of the Gwinnett Criminal Defense section of Gwinnett County Bar Association.    

Jeffrey R. Sliz
          Attended and graduated from Emory University in 1972. He graduated from Mercer Law School in 1975, and was a member of the Mercer Law Review. While on law review he was published in the Georgia State Bar Journal. He was admitted to Georgia and Federal Bars in 1975. Jeffrey set up his law office in Lawrenceville in 1975. Since then he has represented nearly 10,000 clients in all types of civil and criminal litigation matters. He is a founding member and initial president of the Gwinnett Criminal Bar Association. Selected to Who’s Who among the Yankee Polish Catholic criminal defense lawyers early on. He practices criminal defense, domestic relations, personal injury, and civil litigation.
          He was the 27th member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense lawyers formed in 1976, that now has more than 1,500 members. As a member, of GACDL he was formerly an area Vice President and serves on The Board of Directors. He has successfully defended six Death Penalty cases, in which no Defendant was sentenced to death. He is widely acknowledged as a highly competent and ferocious trial litigator and simply known as “The Man” among his criminal clients, who say if your stuff is in the fan, you need to see “The Man”.
          Jeff is an avid Harley Biker, stock car racing fan and collects 70's muscle cars. He believes in working hard and living life to the fullest.

Scott Estes

Scott Estes is a graduate of Georgia State University where he received a B.A in Political Science in 1985 and his law degree in 1990. Mr. Estes has been a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia since 1991 and has strong ties to the greater Atlanta legal community.

While an expert practitioner in areas of law including, domestic relations (divorce/custody/child support), personal injury, and civil litigation, Mr. Estes has been and continues to be a passionate and tireless defender of thousands of individuals charged with crimes from traffic offenses to felony murder.

Prior to joining the Sliz, Drake, Estes firm as a partner in 2010, Mr. Estes was a solo practitioner for 19 years. His personalized approach, along with his focus on the needs of his clients and their satisfaction, has garnered Mr. Estes a strong repeat and referral clientele.

In addition to his professional membership in the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Family Law Section of the State Bar, and the Gwinnett County Bar Association, Mr. Estes also serves as a volunteer in the annual Georgia High School Mock Trial competition and supports numerous charitable organizations including CARE, Unicef, and PAWS Atlanta. He lives in Chamblee, GA with his wife of 10 years, Allyson, and their rescue dog Bella
